This company developed from Business Dept 1 of Zhangjiagang Local Foreign Trade Co in May,1988 which mainly organized textiles supply for specialized foreign trade companies. In Sep,1992,Zhangjiagang city government caught the historical opportunity and firstly obtained the independent right of doing import and export business in all counties of Jiangsu Province. Zhangjiagang Foreign Trade Co. was founded under such circumstances. Ever since then, Zhangjiagang Foreign Trade Co. has been breaking new grounds from the small textiles purchase station. On the basis of Business Dept 1,Zhangjiagang Knitwear Imp & Exp Co. was founded. In Sep.,1997,it was changed into Jiangsu Guotai International Group Knitwear Imp & Exp Co.,Ltd. On Jul.24,1997, this co. was approved by the Ministry of Foreign Economics & Trade the independent right of doing import and export business. At present, this co. has 60 official staffs, of whom 51 graduated from colleges or universities, which accounts for 85% of the total staffs. Owing to past ten years¨ hard work, this co. has been developing steadily and rapidly. Till Oct.,2003,the total import and export value of this co. exceeds USD600 million .At present, this co. has established stable business relations with customers from more than forty countries and regions such as Japan, U.S.A., France, Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Holland, Australia, Brazil, India, etc.
